Do you truly love Me, My child? Are you genuinely desirous of doing My will? I say unto you, heaven and earth are moved to help when your heart is set on pleasing Me.
Over and over I have pleaded with My people, that they might know the value of singleness of mind, for it is the secret to victory. I may ask great things or small. I judge you not by the scope of influence...how important your actions are in the sight of men, but by your purity of motive and the degree of dedication you apply to the task.

2011 - A year of giving up - "On the High Road of Surrender" - Day 21 - Anxiety
Why be anxious? Really....Why? Is it really the same choice to respond with worry or doubt to a storm as it is to respond with peace, faith and calmness. As I see it, in my strength, it may be my response but I choose to try to do it myself. The peace and calmness and erasing of worry must come in my surrender, so God does it, not I. Run the "I" test through your response; if you are saying things like why can't I handle this, or why does this always happen to me, or I don't know what to do, or I asked, or I tried. Look for the you, I, or me in your statement. God is the only one who can. I am encouraged by a verse I read the other day... where the man said to Jesus, " I believe, help me with my unbelief." The help with everything, most importantly what we can't do, must come from He not I.
from Heartlight Morning Devotional -
VERSE:
were willing to take him into the boat, and immediately the boat
reached the shore where they were heading.
-- John 6:20-21
THOUGHT:
Jesus comes to his disciples to comfort them in one of their
worst nightmares -- a storm on the sea. He literally tells them, "I
Am; do not be afraid." Two key things are here for us to notice:
First, Jesus uses a name ("I Am") that identifies himself with God
who delivered Moses and the Israelites from Egypt. Second, he uses
a surprisingly frequent command found throughout the Bible: "Don't
be afraid." When we are willing to invite Jesus into our lives
during the middle of our storms and messes, he not only says, "I
Am; don't be afraid!" but he also helps us find our way to our most
important destination, ultimate deliverance.

My child, when you are tired, do not be disheartened. Most of your discouragement comes when you try to carry your own burden., forgetting to call upon Me for help. Give Me everything, and quickly; for as soon as any heaviness of spirit sets in, trust is crowded out. An atmosphere of anxiety or unhappiness is withering to faith.
Continual prayer will fortify your soul.

2011 - A year of giving up - "On the High Road of Surrender" - Day 20 - Recognize God as your only source - Part 2
taken from "On the High Road to Surrender"
Be as the bird who trust his body to the air. Soar in faith on the wings of the Spirit. My Spirit is everywhere – in you, and about you. Discern My presence. Absorb Me as a sponge absorbs water. I am pouring out upon you. Let your heart respond to My love. Receive Me as a cup receives water. I am your joy and blessing. I am your life and strength.
Angels listen for your songs, for your voice rises to the very gates of heaven when you praise Me.
PRAISE, My child, and I will revive your spirit and renew your faith.

2011 - A year of giving up - "On the High Road of Surrender" - Day 19 - Recognize God as your only source - Part 1
taken from "On the High Road to Surrender"
A man may have understanding without holiness, but none can have holiness without understanding. True understanding of God comes only after the heart has ceased to reach to human beings as a source of life and help. As you recognize Me as your source, you immediately open a channel and dispenser of life and need to look to no other. Man can never fail you when you look to Me. Man fails you when you look to man.

2011 - A year of giving up - "On the High Road of Surrender" - Day 18 - Trust - Part 2
taken from "On the High Road to Surrender"
It is when you are moving out of My divine will that you have unrest. Abiding brings confiding, for to know Me is to trust Me, and trust brings peace.Your trust in Me is colored by human experience. This should never be allowed to happen. Though all men fail, I AM no less faithful: Indeed, in the face of human disappointments your trust in Me becomes even more vital.
Failure of men is often the instrument of grace in My hand to cause a soul to look to Me in total dependence. Total failure of man often brings total dependence on God. Experience has again brought insight. To understand is to believe, and to believe is to trust.

2011 - A year of giving up - "On the High Road of Surrender" - Day 17 - Trust - Part 1
taken from "On the High Road to Surrender"
You struggle, My child, when you could easily rest in My arms. You concern yourself with the actions of others and neglect the only important thing: to abide in Me. He who abides in Me has no need to be anxious, for he draws from Me strength and peace. In this place of quietness I reveal Myself, and in so doing, the whole atmosphere is charged with faith. Light floods the soul; mercy governs the actions; and all is brought into harmony.

2011 - A year of giving up - "On the High Road of Surrender" - Day 16 - strength & weakness & more about love
Godly Goals Are Motivated by Love - "Let love be your highest goal." 1 Cor. 14:1a (NLT)
"Everything you do must be done with love." 1 Cor. 16:14 (NLT)
As many of us are two weeks into our resolutions right now, most of us if you are like me, are being truly tested and in some cases experiencing much pain and heartache. At this point is where the progress is made and the work is done. If we give ourselves to the reality that we are not doing it. I read this yesterday and thought it might be right on track to where most of us are at in our goals we have set for the new year.
this is from Rick Warrens Purpose Driven Connection -
People can be motivated by many things when they set goals -- peer pressure; guilt, greed, materialism, revenge, pride, envy, or jealousy. But God will only bless goals that are motivated by love.
The Bible says everything you do must be done with love. So every goal you set should be for God's glory, and every goal you set must be motivated by love.
The Bible says, "No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us." (1 John 4:12 NLT)
Otherwise, if you set goals without love, then people become tools in your life and you stop seeing them as human beings; instead, you see them as projects and that keeps you from learning how to love. God wants us to spend our time on earth learning how to love him and to love others.

Christ Jesus is made unto us wisdom and righteousness and sanctification and redemption: that according as it is written, he that glories let him glory in the Lord. 1Cor. 1:30-31
My Spirit within you, My child, is the source of your spiritual life and strength. Look not to your own natural abilities, for My Spirit empowers the one who would walk in faith, so that he who is weak need not despair and he who feels himself to be strong shall learn not to boast; for I bring down the mighty and make strong the weak.

God is more interested in why you do what you do than what you do. Godly goals -- the kind God will bless -- must be motivated by love.

The Bible says everything you do must be done with love. So every goal you set should be for God's glory, and every goal you set must be motivated by love.
The love that motivates us can be our love for Jesus or our love for other people. That's called the Great Commandment: Love God with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself. When a goal moves you to love God more or love other people more, then God will get behind that goal.
The Bible says, "No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us." (1 John 4:12 NLT)
